HORSE MANAGEMENT COURSES
Here at BEC we offer a number of horse management courses to assist you in becoming the best horse person you can.
From individual sessions in grooming and tacking up for your lesson, through to achieving a qualification enabling you to pursue your career in the horse industry, we can help you.
OUR NEXT HORSE MANAGEMENT COURSE IS:
PARENT/CHILD COURSE
This course is a must for parents and their children who are looking to take things to the next level. If you are thinking of leasing a horse, or potentially even buying a horse, this 5 week course will open your eyes to the ins and outs, ups and downs of your new life. In this hands on course, you will both perfect your skills in haltering, leading, tieing up and tacking up your steed. Parents will be drilled in safety checks for tight girths, correctly fitting saddles and bridles, holding the horse safely while the child goes "somewhere", putting the horse on the float, how to tell if the horse is sick and needs a vet ...and generally in how to be the "horse parent". They will also have the opportunity to ask all the questions they have - and get an honest answer from someone who has been the child, the parent and also the coach to many people in the same boat. The Children will hopefully learn lots of bits and pieces so they can give their two-cents worth!
INTRODUCTORY HORSE MANAGEMENT COURSE
For those who have been involved in the horse industry for a while and would like to clarify and confirm their skills with a qualification, we are able to offer the EA Introductory Horse Management and Riding Courses. These courses will follow the course as specified by the Equestrian Association.
The courses are offered over a 4 week period, with a 5th session dedicated to asssessment and the exam, for those who are confident to achieve the qualification standard. We can also offer a fast-track session for those who are obviously at the required standard as proven by competition or competencies demonstrated.
